Desitin Creamy (blue) contains 10% zinc and is very effective in combating mild rashes, which usually disappear after a day of application. If you find Desitin Creamy a little too thick, keep applying it after every diaper change until the rashes are gone before resuming with a milder ointment.Desitin Original (purple) is much stronger, both in texture and scent, but it is very effective for more severe cases as it contains 10% more zinc than Desitin Creamy. It leaves a whitish film even after washing, so apply it only when you need to.
