Why Princess Charlotte stuck her tongue out at royal event

Why Princess Charlotte stuck her tongue out at royal event

Just a normal child, this Princess Charlotte...

We only just got over the cuteness of a grumpy Prince Louis at the Queen’s birthday celebrations and the new pictures of a toothless Prince George to commemorate his sixth birthday when we were treated to the cheekiest royal of all.

Just days ago, royal fans were sent into a frenzy when we caught a glimpse of Princess Charlotte at the King’s Cup regatta.

The inaugural event was held on the Isle of Wright and while seeing the royal children is always a treat, it was Charlotte’s cheeky behaviour that had everyone talking.

The moment Princess Charlotte stole the show

As mum Kate Middleton was pointing to the crowd and prompting the four-year-old to wave to onlookers, Charlotte poked her tongue out to the crowd instead.

It was a moment that completely stole the show and had us cheering: “Thank goodness, she’s just like the rest of our kids!”

Now, it has been revealed just what prompted the cheeky wee one to stick out her tongue and as it turns out, it had nothing to do with the paparazzi or reporters begging for her to say hi.

It has been reported that Charlotte had spotted her grandfather Michael Middleton in the crowd and her cheeky message was intended for him.

A family affair

Michael and wife Carole were attending the regatta to cheer on their daughter Kate as she competed against husband Prince William in the charity event. Kate skippered a boat of ambassadors for the Royal Foundation, while Prince William led a crew for Child Bereavement UK.

Princess Charlotte’s siblings Prince George and Prince Louis were also in attendance – though they kept a lower profile on the day. Much like mum Kate, after she took out the wooden spoon for the event.
