Getting ready to register your child for primary school in Singapore? Don't worry! Our comprehensive guide provides all the essential tips, steps, and important considerations to ensure a smooth and successful registration process. Don't miss out on this valuable resource!

Registering your child in 2024 for a primary school in Singapore is an important milestone for both parents and children. Initially, primary school registration can seem overwhelming, but navigating with the right information and guidance becomes much easier.

The 2024 P1 Registration Exercise for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents will commence on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 and this guide aims to provide parents with a step-by-step overview of Singapore’s primary school registration process, along with important considerations and required supporting documents.

Registration for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents

Parents of Singapore Citizen (SC) and Permanent Resident (PR) children can conveniently register through the P1 Registration Portal. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process:

On the Portal:

  1. View Registration Phases and Schools:

    • Starting from 9 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, you can view your child’s eligible registration phases and schools.
  2. Register Your Child:

    • You can register your child during their eligible phases, ranging from Phase 1 to Phase 2C Supplementary.
  3. Check Registration Outcome:

    • Results will be announced on specific days. You will also receive SMS notifications regarding the outcomes.

Registration for International Students

P1 registration for international students (IS) follows a different process, which only begins during Phase 3 of the P1 Registration Exercise, after all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents have been allocated places.

Pre-Phase 3 Process for International Students:

  1. Indication of Interest:

    • Submit an online indication of interest form between 9 AM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, and 4:30 PM on Monday, June 3, 2024. This step is mandatory to be eligible for Phase 3 registration.
  2. Notification:

    • By October, you will be notified via email whether your child can be offered a P1 place. If offered a place, you will receive instructions on how to register in Phase 3 with the designated school.

  2. Register:

    • Only one parent needs to register the child. You must declare that you have obtained consent from the other parent.
  3. If Details Are Missing:
