Being pregnant with one baby brings its fair share of woes: stretchmarks, itchy skin, backaches and more. So, just imagine what it must be like being pregnant with triplets!
A Humongous Baby Bump: Pregnant with Triplets
Maria and her husband Anders are expecting not one, not two, but THREE babies, and she’s taken to Instagram to document her pregnancy. Already parents to a toddler, Maria is due to give birth to her triplets on 13 September.
The petite 33-year-old mum has revealed the weight of her three babies are a bit much for her slight frame to handle.
But nevertheless, she and her husband (who she met on Tinder) are very excited to meet their little ones soon.
“What a journey this has been!” says Maria on Instagram.
“From the huge shock of learning there were three, to people’s reactions, the numerous scans/checks and all the preparations and planning for this life-changing event. “It’s strange to have ended up with such a big belly and it’s even stranger that it can stand out like that without falling down,” she says.
She’s also revealed that she’s starting to feel the impact of her huge baby bump: “I’m reaching my limits now, and counting the days until delivery. The babies are kicking hard and moving around all day and night, to great discomfort.”
Naturally Conceived
Generally, multiples are rare in pregnancy. More often than not, they are the result of IVF or other fertility treatments.
However, in Maria’s case, she conceived them naturally! She’s due to give birth to them via C-section. She says, “My belly feels so full and stretched, I literally have to lift it with my hands to be able to turn over in bed.”
But, despite being so uncomfortable, the dedicated mummy was determined to let her little ones remain growing in her womb for as long as possible.
With her big day almost here, we want to wish the family all the very best!
(Updated June 2020) She has since given birth to the triplets and you can follow their adventures at @triplets_of_copenhagen on Instagram.
