Places in Singapore that'll provide you with the best view of the fireworks this National Day

National Day is around the corner and this year, we'll be celebrating Singapore's 51st year of independence. We've all seen how extravagant the celebrations were last year, due to it being our Jubilee year so there's really no guarantee on whether this year's celebrations would top that of last year's. But either way, there will still be the fireworks display and here are the best spots to see them!
East Coast Park

East Coast Park

What better way to celebrate the nation's birthday than to have a picnic with the family at one of Singapore's all-time favourite family activity spots? The East Coast Park will offer you views of the fireworks as well as the helicopters and planes that fly past, especially at spots facing towards the Marina Barrage and Gardens By the Bay. The newly renovated Marine Cove has also just opened, so hello to fun for everyone!
Marina Barrage

Marina Barrage

The view from the Marina Barrage this year won't be as awesome as last year, especially since the NDP won't be held at the nearby Marina Bay Floating Platform. But hey, the Singapore Sports Hub is still relatively near and amazing views can still be enjoyed at the Barrage. Gather the family and set up your picnic mat while you enjoy the fireworks!
Marina Bay Sands Skypark and Observation Deck

The skypark at MBS is also known for providing amazing views of most of Singapore. It is almost always filled with tourists and locals alike so do expect the crowds on National Day. The skypark is also chargeable and can be a little pricey for providing an amazing view of the fireworks ($22 for adults and $17 for children above the age of two) but hey, this article is about the best places to view fireworks after all, right?
Singapore Flyer

Singapore Flyer

You might be thinking: "But, nobody goes there anymore!" Which is exactly why you should go there, to get the best views of the fireworks in the sky, while you're in the sky! (Well, sort of.) We can't guarantee that there won't at least be a crowd of people at the flyer on National Day though, but hey, to view fireworks from the world's second largest observation wheel could prove to be worth it. The drawbacks would be getting the timing right and dealing with the possible crowd.
Singapore Sports Hub

Singapore Sports Hub

This is probably the best place to see the fireworks because this year, the National Day Parade will be held at the Singapore Sports Hub for the first time, after being at the Marina Bay Floating Platform or the Padang for the past few years. The fireworks will be coming from the Kallang Basin again, after 10 years, since the last NDP at The National Stadium. The only drawback would be the crowd. So be sure to be there early to secure a nice spot!
Supertree by Indochine

Supertree by Indochine

This IndoChinese restaurant at Gardens By the Bay has been known for offering not only good food, but amazing 360 degree views of the nearby areas as well as the South China Sea. You'll be able to savour on delicious food with the family at the restaurant providing great ambience, while enjoying the views of the fireworks as well as the helicopters and the planes! Also, Gardens By the Bay is displaying a whole bunch of pretty orchids at their Flower Dome so be sure to check that out!
The Lawn and The Promontory @ Marina Bay

The Lawn and The Promontory @ Marina Bay

The lesser than known place in Marina Bay actually offers awesome views of the fireworks. It is also an ideal spot for family picnics and leisure activities. There will also be live broadcast of the NDP at the huge LED screens around the area on National Day. So grab your picnic essentials and be there early to get a good spot!
