After weeks of speculation, the world got a sneaky peek of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby girl, Lilibet Diana Mounbatten-Windsor.
The newest royal baby addition–who has so far been kept hidden away from the public view–finally made a rare appearance, thanks to mum Meghan.
It seems that the Duchess of Sussex accidentally shared pictures of her daughter, in a video celebrating her 40th birthday.
First Photograph Of Lilibet Diana Is Out
Meghan Markle who turned 40 on August 4, launched an initiative titled ’40×40′ through a video starring herself and actress Melissa McCarthy.
It was during this video that the Duchess of Sussex accidentally revealed personal photographs of her children and husband, Prince Harry.
In a fleeting moment, the camera panned to the framed pictures kept on her desk, including what looked like one of baby Lilibet Diana with her dad.
The video also revealed one large photo of the couple’s son Archie — now 2-years-old– and a third photo of Meghan snuggling up to Archie. It was a glimpse into the lives of the ex-royal couple and their children given their desire for privacy, especially of their children.
If you recall, Archie’s recent photo was released on his second birthday in May, where he was seen with his back to the camera.
Meghan’s Birthday Video Reveals Details Of Her Contemporary Home
But those aren’t the only things that appeared in Meghan’s birthday video.
Fans were able to get an intimate look of the interiors of their Monetico mansion where the walls featured subtle shades of beige and ivory with hints of dated brass, lending the room a royal touch.
The spacious office room also featured French-style windows, overlooking the outdoors and we even got to see Prince Harry gatecrash Meghan’s 40×40 video.
You can also see her laptop perched on a stack of copies of her children’s book, The Bench. As well as a quartz healing crystal on the desk alongside another stack of her book.
Kept next to her laptop is a fancy tray of biscuits along with a matching teacup and saucer.
Plus, not to be missed were a bouquet of white roses (Princess Diana’s beloved flowers) placed in a golden vase and a Hermès throw placed carefully over another chair.
Why Meghan And Harry Chose The Name Lilibet Diana For Their Daughter
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also chosen a significantly unconventional name for their daughter – one that is an ode to two very important women in their lives.
The name Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor is derived from Her Majesty the Queen and The Princess of Wales.
The Queen’s family nickname is ‘Lilibet’ which inspired Lili’s first name while her middle name ‘Diana’ was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother Princess Diana.
“Having two kids is a juggle”
At a party in London a few months back, Prince Harry opened up about his little girl.
He said, “She’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there. We have been lucky so far. It is Archie, who is running around like crazy.”
Meghan Markle’s New Birthday Initiative Will Help Women
As for the new initiative, the Duchess of Sussex’s 40×40 project encourages mentors to devote 40 minutes of their time to support women heading back into the workforce.
In the video, Meghan highlighted that millions of women globally have had to leave the workforce in the past two years. She further added that fewer women in comparison to men will actually go back to work even as the pandemic recovery starts.
So then asked 40 friends, including activists, athletes and artists to come forward and help her kickstart by contributing 40 minutes of mentorship to support women re-entering the workforce. She said, “I believe mentorship is a great way to help women regain confidence and rebuild their economic strength.”
Among celebs who have committed 40 minutes are singer Adele, fashion designer Stella McCartney and Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
