New Paediatric Urgent Care Centre Opens at Parkway East Hospital

Parkway East Hospital’s Paediatric Urgent Care Centre offers daily care for children up to 14, helping parents avoid long A&E waits.

Every parent knows the worry when a child suddenly falls sick or gets injured, especially at night or outside of normal clinic hours. Instead of rushing to a crowded A&E, families in the East now have another choice. Parkway East Hospital’s Paediatric Urgent Care Centre (UCC) is here to help.

Open every day from 8 am to 1 am (last registration at 11 pm), the centre provides fast, specialist care for children and teens up to 14 years old.

A New Chapter in Paediatric Care

Before the Paediatric UCC opened, parents often had two options. They could wait until the clinic opened the next day or head straight to the A&E, even if the problem was not life-threatening.

This new centre is designed just for kids. It is run by paediatric doctors and nurses who understand children’s needs and know how to make them feel safe and supported. With shorter waiting times and access to hospital facilities, parents can feel reassured that their child is in good hands.

Services Available at the Paediatric Urgent Care Centre

The Parkway East Paediatric UCC is equipped to handle a wide range of childhood emergencies. With a team of paediatric specialists supported by experienced nurses, the centre ensures every child receives professional care in a safe and comforting environment.

Conditions Treated

The centre provides treatment for both non-life-threatening and serious paediatric conditions, such as:

  • Asthma and breathing difficulties

  • High fever

  • Allergic reactions

  • Fractures, sprains, and minor injuries

  • Stomach pain and diarrhoea

  • Seizures

  • Cuts and wounds requiring stitches

24/7 Paediatric Specialist Support

Unlike regular clinics, the centre is staffed by paediatricians trained to manage children’s unique medical needs. Parents can be assured their child is treated by doctors who specialise in child health.

Access to Hospital Facilities

If a child requires further care, the centre provides direct admission to Parkway East Hospital’s dedicated paediatric ward, diagnostic services including X-rays, laboratory services like blood tests, and surgical facilities, ensuring seamless treatment.

What Parents Can Expect

Visiting the Paediatric Urgent Care Centre is designed to be simple, fast, and reassuring for families. Here’s what parents can look forward to when bringing their child in for care:

  • Shorter waiting times. About 30 minutes on average, which is faster than most A&E departments.

  • Specialist-led care. Your child will be seen by doctors trained in paediatrics.

  • Convenient location. At Parkway East Hospital, Joo Chiat Place, easy for families in the East.

  • 24-hour support. After 11 pm, when the Paediatric UCC stops registration, the hospital’s 24-hour Urgent Care Centre continues to accept patients.

Around-the-Clock Reassurance for Families

The launch of Singapore’s first private Paediatric Urgent Care Centre at Parkway East Hospital is more than just a healthcare milestone—it’s a promise of reassurance to parents. With dedicated paediatric specialists, comprehensive facilities, and a child-friendly approach, families in the East now have access to immediate care whenever their little ones need it most.
