The wide-stretch area of Pasir Ris Park makes it a great place to spend the day doing park activities with the whole family. You can choose from a variety of things to do such as pony rides, various water sports, cycling and a pick of any of the barbecue pits across the park.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens is free for all families to visit and with its nature-filled attractions it is definitely worth the visit. There are various gardens with different themes like the Ethnobotany Garden, National Orchid Garden, and Ginger Garden. 

This UNESCO World Heritage Site has gentle slopes for an ideal picnic spot and its grounds are wide open for children to run around and play in. You might even want to embark on a tour in its Rain Forest or take a look at some of their exhibitions.

Being one of the largest urban parks in central Singapore, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park has wide open lawns and grass slopes that are great to enjoy a peaceful picnic with your family. 

The park is not only a perfect place to go cycling with the kids with its well-maintained tracks, but the River Plains playground is an all-access area for kids to play. It also features a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round and swing so that every child has a chance to play with their peers. 

Nature-lovers will also be pleased with the park's wide array of fauna and flora as well as their Butterfly Habitat that features more than 30 species of butterflies. 

5. East Coast Park

As the largest park in Singapore, it's no surprise why East Coast Park is the go-to picnic and barbecue spot in Singapore. Its popularity could be due to its grounds that are perfect for cycling, water sports, rollerblading and even an 18-hole indoor mini-golf course. 

It's the best place around the island for a quick getaway with the entire family. It has a total land size of 185 hectares for all the fun physical activities and games you can do with the kids. There's also a Nature Playgarden with logs and boulders for your child to have an outdoor adventure with kids their age!
