Last Minute Chinese New Year Outfit Ideas for Everyone In the Family!

Have you, like us, left the shopping for your outfits for Chinese New Year to the last-minute? We’d say it is about time to panic, but then we’ve gone ahead and compiled this handy checklist to make sure you and your family look super cute and ultra-auspicious, even if you are a little bit of a procrastinator. You’re welcome.

If you’re still looking for outfits for Chinese New Year, you’ve come to the right place! Read on and find our top picks for the whole family.

The Golden Colours this Lunar New Year:

Red is always a sure-win during the Chinese New Year festivities, but during the Year of the Fire Rooster, the most auspicious colours are also warm-toned. Think golds, yellows and browns.

Mummies:

Don’t want to show up looking too getai in an all-gold ensemble? Try pairing a white blouse with brown pants and instead simply accessorizing with chunky gold jewellery. Check out this blog for more lookspiration!

Daddies:

Don’t be afraid to throw in a splash of colour! Ever owned a pair of yellow pants? Maybe now’s the time – try this butter yellow pair from Forever 21 if you want something a little more subtle.

Kids:

Okay you know what, we’ll leave this part short – because the best part about your little ones is that they’re likely going to look adorable no matter what you put them in!

Where to buy outfits for Chinese New Year?

Chinatown is an obvious and safe bet, especially if you want to make a trip out of it and soak in the festive CNY vibes while you’re at it. Alternatively, and given the time constraint, it’s worth checking out your neighbourhood shopping centres! There are pop-up stores all over shopping centres from Pasir Ris to Joo Koon. You might also want to explore Level 2 of Bugis Junction – we spotted price slashes of up to 50% for men’s, women’s and children’s outfits!

Looking for some matching outfits?

The Missing Piece

What we love: Stores usually only cater to mummy-daughter combinations, but The Missing Piece never fails to remember daddy and his little boy!

Elly

What we love: The store provides tasteful, elegant and sweet pieces for the little people in your life. Visit their website to check out their Chinese New Year collection!

Glitter Glam

What we love: You can do matchymatchy without being too obvious. Take this origami print dress and the subtle, matching accents in the detailing of the menswear, for instance.

#matchingoutfits now go beyond just #motheranddaughter or #fatherandson Experience the sweet bonding between daddies and their girls in our new #familyoutfit to #motheranddaughter or #fatherandson @aisakuraharuka with @repostapp. ・・・ How not to laugh & smile everyday with these two??! 💖💖💖 #Glitterglamsg launched more #matchymatchy outfits for #CNY and this time, hubby is not left out with their new MAN range 👍🏻🌸 #sakuraharuka #sgkids #sgfamily #kidsootd #kidsfashion #lookbook #sgstyle #menswear #dadsforlife #cny2016 #twinning

Spring Maternity

What we love: Hey, having a baby bump doesn’t mean you can’t look great! We think quite the opposite, and so does Spring Maternity www.springmaternity.com/sg/woven-sleeveless-bernarda-chiffon-pleated-dress-tangerine. We especially adore this sassy, saffron coloured dress – perfect for the Lunar New Year festivities! Physical store located at 3 Temasek Boulevard, Suntec City Mall Tower 4, #02–728/729/730, Singapore 038986
