Hey there, tech-savvy parents and young gamers! Do your kids love immersing themselves in the exciting world of online gaming? We all know how much fun it can be to level up, conquer new challenges, and connect with friends worldwide. But as the saying goes, “With great power comes great responsibility.” That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to an awesome event that promises to Level Up Your Child’s Online Gaming Safety!
Picture this: your little gamers receiving messages that make them feel uneasy while engrossed in their favourite virtual adventures. As parents, it’s natural to feel concerned about their safety. But fear not! We’ve got just the right program for you.
Introducing the techforgood pilot Kids Teach Kids online safety program, brought to you by KidsPlaySafer.SG and NLB, where young experts lead the way!
Calling all parents with gamers ages 10 and below!
This unique event is tailor-made for the young ones, led by fellow students who understand their online gaming world like no other. KidsPlaySafer.SG has been doing a fantastic job in educating kids and parents about digital safety, and this time, they’re collaborating with NLB for their “Let’s be S.U.R.E. together!” 2023 initiative. Exciting, right?
So, what can you expect from this thrilling workshop? Here are some highlights:
1. Essential Gaming Skills for Safety: Our kor kors and che ches (big brothers and sisters) will take your child through the dos and don’ts of online gaming. They’ll share valuable tips and experiences to empower your little ones to navigate the virtual world securely.
2. Creating a Safer Gaming Environment: We all know gaming is more fun with friends, but having the right ones is equally important! Kids will learn to identify and deal with uncomfortable or scary messages, ensuring a positive and safe gaming experience.
3. Learning from Peers: Kids teaching kids—how cool is that? Your child will have a blast learning from young mentors who speak their language and know the gaming universe inside out.
But wait, there’s more! KidsPlaySafer.SG isn’t just any organization; they’re a digital tool that sparks conversations between parents and children about digital safety. Their partnership with the Digital for Life Movement speaks volumes about their dedication to making the online world safer for kids.
Currently, KidsPlaySafer reaches over 500 students, 120 community residents, and 89 registered beneficiaries with the help of 3 Family Service Centers across Singapore. They’ve even conducted Digital Safety Talks with experts from tech platforms like Meta and TikTok. Talk about being at the forefront of digital safety!
Now, let’s get down to the logistics. The event is on Sunday, August 20, from 2 pm to 3 pm at the Punggol Regional Library. Please note that this program is open to National Library Board, Singapore members. So, make sure you have your myLibrary username ready before proceeding with the registration. If you don’t have one, don’t worry; you can create it easily on their website.
We know you want to capture every moment of this exciting event but remember, photos and videos may be taken during the program, so keep those smiles ready!
To wrap it up, we can’t emphasize enough how important it is to equip our kids with the right knowledge to stay safe while gaming online. With KidsPlaySafer.SG is leading the way and their collaboration with NLB for “Let’s be S.U.R.E. together!” 2023, we’re sure this event will be nothing short of fantastic!
