Chinese New Year is fast approaching, and in the midst of all that planning and preparation, a big concern is, how much do we have to buy in advance? Are there any supermarkets open for Chinese New Year 2018 in Singapore?
Well, fret not, because supermarkets going on holiday for Chinese New Year (CNY) seems to be a thing of the past. Check out the operating hours of some major supermarkets for CNY this year!
NTUC FairPrice
A record number of 138 NTUC FairPrice stores are open on the first day of CNY (Feb 16) this year! Apart from that, there will be extended hours at the stores, in the days leading up to CNY.

Online delivery is available from 10 am – 6 pm from Feb 15 to 18, but orders must be made before the timings mentioned on the site. Normal delivery timings will resume on Feb 19 for the online store.
Sheng Siong
Sheng Siong operating hours for CNY 2018
Over at Sheng Siong, in the days leading upto 15 Feb, some outlets will extend their shopping hours to 24 hours! The normal 24 hour outlets will operate as usual.
On CNY eve (15 Feb), all stores operate till 4 pm, except Penjuru store.
On 16 and 17 Feb, 19 stores will remain open from 8 am – 6pm.
Cold Storage
Cold storage is also offering extended opening hours 1 week before CNY. Stores close a little early on CNY eve (15 Feb). Most stores are open though, on the first 2 days of Chinese New Year (16 & 17 Feb).

Meanwhile, at Giant, selected stores are extending their operating hours before Chinese New Year. All stores will be operating as usual during the Chinese New Year Holidays!
