How did NASA reply when a 9-year-old applied for a job with them?

How did NASA reply when a 9-year-old applied for a job with them? How did NASA reply when a 9-year-old applied for a job with them?

The little boys letter is so cute and innocent!

NASA space agency must get innumerable job applications every day. But when they advertised a job opening for "Planetary Protection Officer", they did not expect a nine-year-old to apply with the cutest, most original application ever!

In his 'job application' young Jack Davis explains why he is ultra-qualified to be a "Guardian of the Galaxy".

“I have seen almost all the space and alien movies I can see,” Jack explained in his letter. “I’m great at video games. I am young, so I can learn to think like an Alien.” Also, he gives the very valid reason that his sister thinks he is an alien!

Jack's letter went viral after it was posted on Reddit, where it was picked up by NASA's director of planetary science division Dr. James L. Green, who took on the very serious job of replying the young's lad's letter via Twitter.

“It’s about protecting Earth from tiny microbes when we bring back samples from the Moon, asteroids and Mars. It’s also about protecting other planets and moons from our germs as we responsibly explore the Solar System,” he explained.

He also encouraged Jack to study hard and do well in school so that one day when he is an adult, he can join NASA for real!

It's so heartening to see young children and their dreams being acknowledged by adults in this way, and we predict this little boy is going to go very far in life and wish him all the best.
