A 35-year-old woman was found murdered in Singapore on 19 November 2018 at a flat in Bedok South. Her father has been arrested.

The shocking incident happened in an 8th floor unit at Block 171, Bedok South Road.
The 64-year-old father, Tan Tian Chye, has been charged on Nov 20 with killing his daughter, Ms Desiree Tan Jiaping. He will be be remanded at Changi Prison Complex Medical Centre for psychiatric evaluation.
Police apparently received a call for assistance on Nov 19 at 3.43 pm. Officers found the victim lying motionless inside the flat. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:17 pm.
Details of the case like who made the call, the murder weapon used or injuries suffered, have not been revealed by the authorities yet.
If found guilty of the murder, the accused can face death penalty.
A neighbour of the family, Mrs Ng, told The New Paper that the accused was a private-hire car driver. He lived in the flat with his wife, a tuition teacher.
“Usually, he is cheerful and would always tease my daughter. But recently he became skinnier, and you can tell he was not as cheerful as before”, she said.
