Mum's Viral Post Slams Notion That C-sections Are "Easy Way Out"

Mum's Viral Post Slams Notion That C-sections Are "Easy Way Out"

“Ah, yes. My emergency c-section was absolutely a matter of convenience. It was really convenient to be in labor for 38 hours before my baby went into distress and then every contraction was literally STOPPING his HEART.”

Let’s get one thing out in the open: childbirth is not easy. In fact, it’s one of the hardest things a woman will ever endure.

Despite this universal understanding, there are still a number of people around the world that seem to believe that there’s a way to minimize the pain, effort, stress, and danger that is associated with childbirth. A C-section.

That’s right. There is a percentage of the population that seems to believe that undergoing a C-section is considered an “easy way out”.

Well, much to the dismay of the men and women who have conjured up this misconception…quite the opposite is true. There’s no easy way to deliver a child. But don’t take it from me, heed the powerful words of mums like Raye Lee.

Lee, who recently gave birth to her son Roxas via C-section, shared photos of her post-surgery scars on Facebook (seen below). In the caption of the viral post, she shared a powerful message that aims to combat the misconceived notions of a doubter of the childbirth method.

In the caption, Lee begins the poignant post with brief examples of harsh criticism: “Oh. A c-section? So you didn’t actually give birth. It must have been nice to take the easy way out like that.”

Her responses to these criticisms?

“Ah, yes. My emergency c-section was absolutely a matter of convenience. It was really convenient to be in labor for 38 hours before my baby went into distress and then every contraction was literally STOPPING his HEART.”

That ought to put an end to skeptics!

“Being told at the beginning that I was displaying great progress and wouldn’t need a cesarean section… and then being told that I was being prepped for major abdominal surgery was not a shock at all,” Lee adds in her post. “It had nothing to do with the fact that I physically couldn’t because I was given no other choice to save the life of my child.”

Lee has a post’s worth of choice language to combat those who really think any part of C-section is easy. You’ll have to check it out for yourself for more! However, one thing is for certain, this mumma is far from ashamed for having undergone the procedure. If anything, she’s proud!

“This was the most painful thing I have experienced in my life,” she boldy writes in her post. “I now belong to a bada** tribe of mamas with the scar to prove that I had a baby cut out of me and lived to tell the tale.”

Lee’s post has already been shared over 139,000 times, and has received over 103,000 likes on Facebook. Looks like the skeptics have quite a following to answer to now!

“I’m so happy that people are spreading the awareness that not all mummies can deliver the ‘natural way,’” she added in another post.

No matter what road a mother takes to achieve motherhood, it’s never easy…regardless of what haters want to say! Congrats, Raye and other mummies! Embrace being a mummy, no matter how you gave birth!
