Miss Saigon Singapore Announces Open Call for Child Actor to Play 'Tam'

If your child meets the age and height requirements and has a love for theatre, encourage them to audition and be a part of this incredible production.

Attention all parents! The highly acclaimed musical “Miss Saigon” is set to take the stage at the Sands Theatre in Singapore this August, and they are currently seeking a talented child actor to join their cast. Base Entertainment Asia, the organiser of the Singapore run, has announced an open call for the role of Tam, the son of the lead characters Kim and Chris.

A Unique Opportunity for Young Performers

Moreover, the Miss Saigon Singapore production offers an incredible opportunity for young performers aged four to eight years old to be a part of the show.

Notably, the role of Tam is a non-speaking and non-singing part, making it perfect for children who are just starting in the world of theatre.

Miss Saigon Singapore Audition Details

Base Entertainment Asia has tentatively set the Miss Saigon Singapore audition for the role of Tam on Apr. 27 and 28, with the venue yet to be confirmed. In addition, they have provided a link where parents of interested auditionees can find more details about the audition and apply online.

 

Character Description

According to the character description provided by Base Entertainment Asia, Tam is “male-identifying, of Vietnamese heritage with a playing age of three years old”.

However, performers of any gender can play the role, although the production team may require those with long hair to cut it if cast.

 

Miss Saigon Singapore Audition Requirements

To be eligible for the Miss Saigon Singapore audition, children must be between four and eight years old and not taller than 115cm. The production team has set this height requirement to ensure that the child actor fits the character description and can be easily integrated into the show.
