Man Locks Himself in Flat, Threatens to Hurt Son

According to reports, police responded to a call for height rescue, around 2.30pm at Block 18 Ghim Moh Road. However, the man did not follow police instructions and proceeded to lock himself in his flat, along with his little boy.

According to Lianhe Wanbao reports, the man (who already had a warrant of arrest), earlier started fighting with social workers who came by his flat. It was after this that the police received the call. When they arrived, they found the man had locked himself and his child in their home.

At one point, the man reportedly threatened to throw the little boy down from his sixth-floor flat. Once a police negotiator arrived on the scene, the man finally calmed down after about three hours of being in lock-down.

Thankfully, the child was not hurt.
