So they went cool. And they went cool in the most traditional way possible. And the Internet went crazy!
Malaysian couple’s longboarding wedding photos
29-year-old Vina Marwan apparently first met her 26-year-old husband Ikhzreen Husin, at a longboarding session 5 years ago. The two were in the same skating session and instantly hit it off.
Love blossomed as they spent more time skating together and travelling to tournaments. In July this year, the couple tied the knot in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
After their wedding, they did an impromptu photo shoot – at a nearby skate park! Complete with traditional attire!
Vina told Buzzfeed that, “We didn’t really plan how the shoot was supposed to be. It was all candid with nothing serious about it.”
“We rode casually and slowly as I was wearing a skirt with a long tail.
They had no idea what was in store though…
Vina’s niece uploaded the photos to Twitter, and the Internet lapped it up like crazy! When we last checked, the post had been retweeted more than 41,000 times!
Needless to say, people loved their fun and unconventional photo-shoot. Many were happy that the pictures depicted Muslim women in a different, empowering light.
Vina writes on Facebook, “I just married my best friend that puts up with all of my crap. lol I’m happy and chillin out from now on enjoying our newly married life. kahh couldn’t imagine going through…”
We wish this lovely couple many more happy adventures together.
And yeah, who says women can’t have fun in long flowy dresses? 😉
