Look: Waiter feeds sick baby so exhausted mother can enjoy meal

Look: Waiter feeds sick baby so exhausted mother can enjoy mealLook: Waiter feeds sick baby so exhausted mother can enjoy meal

After several days in the hospital, Ellee and her parents went out for a nice meal. The kind treatment they received from one waiter will absolutely make your day!

Many parents understand that bringing a baby to a restaurant isn’t always easy. The event, generally speaking, isn’t as carefree as other restaurant-goers’ experience. Parents have to make sure your baby is comfortable, relaxed, and taken care of. This is usually what most customers go to a restaurant to feel for themselves.

As much of a struggle it can be for parents, one couple was blessed (and surprised) by the level of service, compassion, and accommodation a server at a chain restaurant showed them.

Dallas French, a mother from Little Rock, Arkansas (USA), recently journeyed to a local Olive Garden restaurant with her husband in hopes of having a nice, laid back evening. Typically, the mother is used to bending over backwards to make sure her daughter, Ellee, is taken care of whenever they go out for a nice meal. Amazingly, one server took it upon himself to cater to the needs of the infant so that the exhausted couple could enjoy a simple meal without the trouble of overexerting themselves in a public environment.

Ellee, who is only four months old, recently tested positive for E.coli. The infant had restlessly spent several days sick, leaving her parents in a constant state of worry. Dallas, while at the restaurant with her sick daughter, started prepping a bottle for Ellee as their waiter was bringing their starters out.

In a post, shared by Dallas French to Olive Garden’s Facebook page, the mother wrote: “I was really out of it (and probably from the lack of sleep this past month),” she wrote, “but we went to Olive Garden in little rock after Ellee’s tests at children’s hospital and she was starving and I was trying to make a bottle and spilled it all over me an the floor [sic].”

French added in an interview with Fox WPVI, “Our waiter (wish I knew his name) watched all that happened and had just brought our salad and bread sticks and said ‘here let me feed her and you eat'”.

Dallas, taken aback by the generous act, took a picture of the waiters kind-hearted action. She shared the photo to Olive Garden’s Facebook page and captioned the post. In it, she wrote, “This melted all of us and this is what we need more of. He fed her, I ate my salad and bread sticks, and that milk on the floor got cleaned up after we left because he just understood!”

“He didn’t even know what we had went through that day and showed us love an understanding — not irritated that I had made a mess an my baby was screaming… Gosh I wish I woulda got his name because he deserves the recognition [sic]!!” the mother added.

The post, since shared by French, has already garnered roughly 36,000 shares and counting. Olive Garden responded to the post with much praise for the mother, the sick infant, and the kind waiter. They assured Dallas that the waiter would receive her message, and signs of gratitude.

It probably goes without saying that this kind waiter got a tip worthy of remembering!

As mentioned earlier, parents who bring their children (namely babies) out to dinner, don’t always have it easy. In fact, many restaurant-goers complain about the situation that they’ve been put in when a baby visits. They often complain about the noise-level, which is heightened by the sounds of a crying infant. In spite of this sad reality, it’s nice to see that there are those who aren’t bothered by the presence of a baby, or their exhausted parents.

It just goes to show you that while there are always going to be rude individuals, there will also be warm-hearted, generous souls that only want the best for others around them!
