Little one and Daddy

Little one and DaddyLittle one and Daddy

Margaret Bok shares her labour story with theAsianparent.com

My EDD was 3rd Nov 2010 and yet, I had a strong feeling that the little one will say HI to everyone on the 4th weekend of October. I told baby:"Baby, daddy is not with us currently (he is working in M'sia), if you really wanna come out earlier, do give your daddy enough time to come back and evidence this special moment with us ya"

True enough, in the middle of the night on 22nd October, water bag burst.. Me and my mum rushed to hospital immediately, and of course, I called my husband before we step out from the house. My husband can't wait at all, immediately he drives all the way to Singapore from north M'sia. He didn't sleep for the past 24hrs already and the haze was terrible that time. Nevertheless, he insisted to drive over, without accompanied.

My mum was with me in the labour room before my husband arrive. She hold on to me, give me support and I finally know the pain that she had gone through for her 4 pregnancies. When the nurse put me on drip, i shed my tears immediately. Yes, it is painful to me, but the most painful part is in deep of my heart. I thought of my beloved daddy, who had just passed away 25days before he got the chance to see his grandson. I heartache as he was on drip for many times... and I think I saw him, standing on the right of the bed, smiling at me and tell me to be strong.

The contraction was terrible, but I kept telling my boy:"Hold on baby, daddy is on the way now. Don't be afraid, mummy is here with you. We love you, son." and I know, that baby will definitely do so...

After a 10hours contraction, my husband has finally arrived. The hospital was kind enough to allow my mum to switch with my husband to accompany me during the labour (had been told that no switching is allowed before I enter the labour suite). 30mins right after my husband arrival, we finally got to see the fruit of our love. Dear, see I told ya, baby will definitely wait for you. This is the tie between baby and daddy!!! I love both of you so much!
