Her Royal Highness herself, the Duchess of Cambridge and future Queen of England has taken over The Huffington Post UK on 17 Feb for an important cause: calling for an end to stigma surrounding kids’ mental health.

In a new series called “Young Minds Matter,” Duchess Kate and the HuffPo UK team will be advocating a new series of conversation exploring some of the issues, stigmas, and solutions surrounding mental health.

The series will feature the personal stories of families and children affected by mental health disorders to bring awareness and hopefully, collective solutions.

In her personal essay, Duchess Kate penned her stance not just on mental health issues in general, but also on what she and Prince William would do if their children were ever impacted.

“Like most parents today, William and I would not hesitate to seek help for our children if they needed it,” the Duchess of Cambridge writes. “We hope to encourage George and Charlotte to speak about their feelings, and to give them the tools and sensitivity to be supportive peers to their friends as they get older.”

“For too long we have been embarrassed to admit when our children need emotional or psychiatric help, worried that the stigma associated with these problems would be detrimental to their futures.”
