Jamie Chung reveals the reason behind her decision to pursue surrogacy in an interview. According to her, she was "terrified" of becoming pregnant because of its potential effect on her career.

She believes that pregnancy could significantly affect her acting career. Jamie Chung is part of movies and TV shows like The Real World, Lovecraft Country, and Big Hero 6.

"I was terrified of putting my life on hold for two-plus years," said Jamie Chung. 

"In my industry, it feels like you're easily forgotten if you don’t work within the next month of your last job. Things are so quickly paced in what we do."

Jamie Chung and her husband settle a dispute by mutual decision with her husband, Bryan Greenberg. She described surrogacy as a "compromise" she made with her husband.

Additionally, Jamie Chung went on to talk about how surrogacy is stigmatised in general. 

“I think there's a little bit of shame," the American actress said. "It's still not a very common thing, and we weren't ready for judgment.”
