Indian baby raped: Police say that the little child had gone to play with the kids of the accused.

In a shocking piece of news coming from Delhi, India, a one and a half-year-old baby girl was raped by a 33-year-old grown-up man in front of his two kids, a four-year-old son, and a two-year-old daughter.

The incident happened in Outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area on Wednesday morning. The little baby girl was rushed to the hospital after her mother found her bleeding from her private parts. The doctors then confirmed that the child was sexually assaulted.

Police say that the little child had gone to play with the kids of the accused and at that time his wife was on the terrace for some work. The man, Rakesh Bhatnagar, then raped the little baby in front of his little kids as they live in a one-room accommodation, said the police.

The police have registered a case under section 6 against the accused, which deals with cases leading to aggravated penetrative sexual assault, punishable with a maximum term of life imprisonment.

“We have lodged a case under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, pertaining to aggravated penetrative sexual assault punishable with a maximum term of life imprisonment,” DCP (outer Delhi area) M N Tiwari told The Indian Express.

“Her mother rushed her to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where doctors told her she had been sexually assaulted. She has undergone a surgery; she has four stitches in her private parts,” an officer said. “The accused, who works at a printing press, fled the house. But he was caught on Wednesday night,” the officer added.

Swati Maliwal, Delhi Commission for Women Chief, was disgusted and deeply disturbed at the incident and tweeted the issue needs to be addressed right now.

News reports say that the girl’s mother lives alone as she is separated from her husband and stays with her parents in outer Delhi. The family belongs to the labour class and is very poor.
