Husband sues and leaves wife and baby for being ‘ugly’!

An Asian man sues his wife and won almost $150,000 in damages because she gave birth to an ‘ugly’ baby.

Too ugly to be mine
According to reports, the man, Jian Feng thought his daughter did not resemble either him or his wife and looked ‘really ugly’. His first thought was that the baby was not his and that his wife had cheated on him.

However, after all the accusations and denial from the wife, she finally came clean and admitted to having plastic surgery to change her looks. This had happened before she had met him and she had spent over $100,000 to ‘become beautiful’.

Betrayed his trust?
Jian Feng saw this as a ‘ betrayal’ of their marriage vows and led him to leave his wife and child. He did not stop there however, and went on to sue her for misleading him into the marriage. Unbelievably, the court agreed with Jian Feng and subsequently awarded him to be paid around $150,000 as the judge decreed that the marriage was entered under false pretences.

Ugly on the inside?
It would seem that Jian Feng has proven himself to be the ugly one on the inside by leaving his wife and innocent daughter just because he deemed her ‘too ugly’. Readers we spoke to expressed their outrage and disappointment on the way Jian Feng acted as well as the court’s ruling.

Madam Aishah, 57, a mother of four, says, “I can’t believe that the husband would do that! And for the court to rule in his favour?! Ridiculous. At the end of the day, it is his innocent daughter that will suffer.”

Mr Ng, 33, father of one, says, “I do understand where the father is coming from because I think the wife should have been upfront about her having extensive plastic surgery. However he should not have left his wife and daughter over something superficial such as looks. After all, a baby’s appearance will change as they grow older. I think it’s important to realise that looks is not everything and it is definitely not the most important thing in any relationship.”
