Heo Sung Tae has been cooking breakfast for his wife for the past 10 years.

The Squid Game actor, Heo Sung Tae, created a mark for his portrayal of baddie Deok-su. Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that his character Deok-su is shown as a trigger-happy gangster and uses all forms of intimidation to get what he wants.

But his real life couldn’t be more further away from his reel life.

The actor in reality is famous for being a softie and is madly in love with his wife. How do we know this? Well, thanks to a YouTube video that has now gone viral, his inner romantic is for all to see!

In one particular episode of Point of Omniscient Interfere, which is a South Korean reality show, Heo Sung revealed that he loves making meals and cooking for others. In fact, you can safely say when he’s not stabbing people or pushing them off certain glass bridges in reel life, Heo can be found in the kitchen in real life.

The Squid Game actor recently visited his mother in Busan, his hometown, and after inviting his manager over to his mother’s home, he personally cooked a meal for him. The manager then revealed how the actor enjoys cooking and regularly cooks a meal for his loved ones.

He also went on to reveal a romantic side of the actor and said, “Heo Sung Tae has been cooking breakfast for his wife for the past 10 years.”

If you find it hard to believe that this “gangster” can churn up a decent meal? Well, here’s a look!

Heo Sung Tae Quit His Sales Job To Become An Actor

Heo left his job to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He entered showbiz at the age of 34.

After graduating from Pusan National University with a degree in the Russian language and culture, he went on to work in LG Electronics’ Russian business marketing team, where he was referred to as the “King of Sales.”

He then joined a ship building company and earned an annual wage of around USD$60,000.

However, things changed the day he came across an advertisement for an acting survival reality show called Miracle Audition. High on soju, he applied for the show and not only got in, but also earned the fifth spot. This prompted him to make the drastic career shift to becoming an actor.

In the reality show, the actor revealed that he had never taken a formal acting class, but learnt the skill of acting through a comedy show.

The actor also speaks Russian in the Korean series Beyond Evil and posted a parody of Squid Game in Russian on his Instagram Stories. A few days back, fans also found a post on his Instagram account with a bottle of Baikal vodka and the caption “I miss Russia once a year.”

Heo Sung Tae Wife Banned Him From Filming Sex Scenes

Heo Sung got married to his wife in 2010, after dating each other for 10 years. And while she is extrenely supportive of his movie career, if there is one thing is doesn’t allow him to do- it is a love making scene.

Talking about Squid Game, Heo Sung revealed that he promises his wife that he wouldn’t film any ‘bed scene.’ “My wife can tolerate me filming naked scenes, but will never agree with a bed scene,” he was quoted as saying.

So far, he has appeared in 60 films and TV shows and is all set to star in the Netflix sci-fi thriller The Silent Sea, which will be released sometime later this year.

Going by his past performances and especially his last role as Deok-su, it is safe to say that fans are in for a real treat!
