5 healthy relationship tips from Brad and Angelina!

5 Sep, 2014

Congratulations to newly weds Brad and Angelina! After 10 years together, the two have finally tied the knot in front of a small gathering of family and friends in Paris.

The couple's children took part in the wedding: sons Maddox and Pax walked the lovely Jolie down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls and last but not the least, Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers.

Here are 5 healthy relationship tips we learned from newly weds Brad & Angelina!

Maintain a work-life balance

Maintain a work-life balance

With so much on their plate as big Hollywood actors, it’s amazing how Brad and Angelina maintain a work-life balance. How do they do it? They cut back on the non-essentials and know to prioritize their children first. According to Brad, "I want to…be a dad, first and foremost. After two days it gets itchy, I miss them".

Take the necessary time to invest in the things that really matter in your life. Coming home every night after your kids have gone to bed and leaving for the office as soon as they wake up, spells doom. Try to find a way to be more present in your family’s life.

Be loving and supportive towards your spouse

Be loving and supportive towards your spouse

It's important to always be loving and supportive towards your spouse. Everyone knows that "Brangelina" went through a rocky start, as many dubbed Angelina a "home wrecker" and more. However, all throughout the drama and controversy, Brad stood by her side. Even more so when Angelina revealed that she underwent a double mastectomy in 2013.

In order to raise secure and happy kids, you need to put your marriage first and your babies second! A strong and loving relationship will help kids be more grounded and secure, as they draw strength and security from the bond and happiness between their parents.

Make sex an important part of your marriage

Make sex an important part of your marriage

Angelina left little to the imagination after she admitted to bringing home the horns from her Maleficent costume for some "horny play" with Brad.

Mums, be reminded that your husbands are visual creatures, so spend time on your appearance and find ways to seduce him: seducing your man in sexy lingerie as you whisper flattering and suggestive words will heat things up quickly!

Dads, exhaustion and sex do not mix. Consider helping your spouse with the laundry, cooking dinner, and follow it up with a foot rub. A happy spouse equals a happy you!

Agree on core parenting principles to avoid conflicts

Agree on core parenting principles to avoid conflicts

Taken from MailOnline , Angelina says that Brad always encourages her and is willing to assume a lot of the parental duties, which she greatly appreciates.

"Brad is a wonderful teacher and guide, for the boys in particular. He likes to plan things and proceed in a very deliberate and methodical way. He is much cooler and calmer... It’s very reassuring to know there is this very solid and generous man in your life."

Most parenting disagreements are about raising children, especially in the context of how and when to discipline kids. In order to present a united front as you discipline your kids, it is important to discuss your parenting plan in advance. This way, your children will not be able to play one parent against another.

Communicate

Communicate

In order to raise a brood of 6, communication is essential for Angelina and Brad. But with their hectic schedules and far away shooting locations while filming, how do they keep in touch? Love letters.

The most successful relationships have strong lines of communication, as not only does it involve talking to each other, but actually connecting with one another. So make it a point to take time out of your busy schedule to check up on one another, a quick, "Hi! Hello!" will make your spouse feel appreciated and missed.
