Haze boredom activities: fun at home

Is the hazy weather making you feel down? Cheer up! There's a lot of fun in store at home. Here's some things to do while beating the haze.

 

 

Is the haze curbing your activities outdoors? Fret not. There's a myriad of activities you can engage in with your family at home. Brainstorm with your loved ones on what best suits everyone and you will be surprised at how much fun you can have in this hazy weather!

The level of the PSI determines when it's safe to leave the house. According to MOH, it's highly advised to stay indoors if the PSI hits above 200.

However, don't let the haze dampen your mood!

This may be traditional, however, it keeps your kids active in this dull weather! In fact a slight competition between you and your kids will lighten the mood. You can use a little work out too! You can do this by making hopscotch boxes with ribbons.
2.     Bowling at home.

How about turning your living room into a bowling alley? Fill up some empty bottles with pasta or water for some weight and bring some excitement and challenge in this hazy weather.

Your children may have plenty of fun in art class at school. Why not bring the fun to the comforts of your home? Join your children in making flowers (out of paper plates) or caterpillars (out of cloth pegs). Relive some of your fondest memories from school days.

Fathers, take charge! Impart some ‘man-of-the-house’ skills on your children including your girls. Home repairs skills are essential, make it a fun family affair!

What is better than sitting on the living room couch with your family (and a bag of chips)? Catch the latest movies out on DVD. If time permits, have a movie marathon!

Have a picnic in your very own living room. Simply spread out the picnic blanket and let your children pack the picnic basket. This is one way to spend your lunch time creatively with your family.

Believe it or not, podcasts are a great source of information. Encourage your children to listen to these informative audio shows. It’s readily available on iTunes. Definitely a great source of knowledge for your children while staying at home.
8.     Gym at home

This is in fact a good time for dads to bond with their sons. There are a lot of muscle building workouts on YouTube, which are great for indoor activities. In fact, some workouts are designed specifically for you to train at home. Engage your son in this fitness regime. Girls, pull out those yoga mats and stretch with mum! A fit and healthy kid is always a happy child.

Since the haze eliminates any form of jogging outside, do your cardio at home. Grab a jump rope or turn on the music and dance those calories away as a family!

This traditional way of killing boredom is indeed a proven method. Games like Monopoly and Pictionary have successfully brought families together over the years. Do consider Jenga too. You will definitely have so much fun with your family that you will forget about the hazy weather outside.
