5 great blogs with free printables for home learning

5 great blogs with free printables for home learning

There are many great blogs out there that help parents in teaching their kids at home. Here are 5 of our favourites with free printables.

There are many educational books for pre-schoolers from assessments to readers to phonic books etc being sold at our local bookshops. But did you know that you can actually own these learning materials without opening your wallets? There are plenty of free printables online that you can easily download and print.

Caring is sharing, hence today, I shall spare you from slogging through the internet in search for such great sites. I will be listing down a few great blogs with loads of free printables! Let’s get to it!

1. This Reading Mama

If you are on the mission to teach your child to read, then you must check out this blog. It is pregnant with ideas on how you can inspire your child to read and yes, there are free printables for you to download from phonics to reading to spelling to writing etc.

Also, if you are using BOB books, then you may want to consider using her BOB books printables- for FREE! She also provides math printables but I usually go to her blog for to look for reading materials.

2. The Measured Mom

I love this site because there’s plenty of free readers for us readers to download. These readers are like little booklets that are easy to read for pre-schoolers. There are readers focusing on sight words and readers targeted for kids who are starting to read.

Instead of purchasing those reader sets from the book stores, why not save the cash and download these readers for free? Also, similar to the first blog, this site has loads of free phonics and sight words printables which you can use for your pre-schooler.

3. Living Montessori Now

This is THE most favourite blog of mine. I love the Montessori method so this is my go to blog for ideas. Even if you are not a Montessori fan, you should still visit this site. What makes it awesome is Deb (the owner of the blog) collates all the various blog links from all over and categorises them according to different themes. That saves you from scouring through the internet for ideas, I liken it to one stop shopping.

Of course, there is no lack of free printables on this blog. But be warned, navigating the blog may send your head spinning, there are just too much information there (which is a good thing of course).

4. Teachers pay Teachers

This is a site by educators for educators. It is where teachers upload their learning materials which they designed themselves for other teachers to use. Although most of the printables are put up for sale, still, it does have a hefty number of free printables.

The great thing about this blog is that the printables are not limited to preschool education but also elementary levels (which is comparable to our primary school standard). There is a wide range of selection here from reading to spelling to math.

5. Confessions of a homeschooler

Here’s another blog with aplenty free printables and wide range of categories for you to choose from. Her downloads are wonderfully colourful and attractive. Her worksheets are not limited to just pre-schoolers but also for elementary students.

These blogs are not just good for it’s free learning aids but also a good source of ideas for home learning. One should take time to read through the contents of these blogs. I guarantee you that you will be inspired- no less!

Obviously, this list is not exhaustive, there are many sites out there with free downloads. All you need to is to search through the internet and plenty of time. The list above should be enough to help you get started. Happy navigating and be inspired!
