Father chains and starves his children in the toilet

30 Dec, 2011
Father chains and starves his children in the toilet

People may chain up their dogs but hardly anyone is inhumane enough to starve their own pets—what more a daddy chaining his own children and depriving them of the food that they need? Why have children in the first place if love cannot be provided willingly?

Father chains and starves his children in the toilet

We have been seeing stories in the media about parents that should be certified insane because of their inability to be parents. Children are tortured, neglected, abused, raped and even murdered by their own parents. Makes us question why they chose to bring innocent little ones in the world—only to make them suffer?

There was a father who punished his son by stuffing him into a washing machine, parents who raped their 1-month-old baby, parents who confined kids in dog cages, a dad who killed two kids for revenge and others. What is happening to parents?

For the rest of us who are observing, we can read these accounts as a “what NEVER to do to our children” or any one’s children for that matter. Reading these stories make us love our little angels even more.

Dad chains and starves his offspring

A 2-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl were locked up, chained and starving in the toilet. The father who abused his kids did this because they were “being disobedient”. What happened to grounding kids or asking them to stand in the corner? It really isn’t necessary to apply such a cruel punishment on them. They will end up being psychologically troubled or emotionally scarred.

The good news is the father from Raja Uda, who is in his 40s, has been arrested for his misconduct. Authorities rescued the children when a neighbour heard the children’s cries and reported to the authorities.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Zulkifli Alias shared that the father, who works as a delivery man, chained his two kids in the toilet before going to work. He said: “The girl told the neighbour that their father had chained them in the bathroom and they were starving.”

The children are safe

The kids are now in a safe environment with the Welfare Department and parents will be ordered to go for counselling. Unfortunately, the kid’s Thai mother walked out on the family about a month ago—so they now have a broken family. There were no further signs of physical abuse on the kids.

The police have thus far gotten a remand order against the father to further investigations under the Children Act 2001.
