Singapore Night Festival 2019 kicks off with more exciting family-friendly activities. Happening from 23 August to 31 August, the festival has more than 40 performances and 16 night lights. This year’s edition will also be curating works with a Southeast Asian connection so expect to see stories like no other.

Here are seven must-see family-friendly events we recommend this year at the Singapore Night Festival 2019

Keep Dreaming

Get your camera out as the National Museum of Singapore comes to life as three mysterious characters embark on an adventure. This whimsical journey filled with action and fantasy is going to leave you and your kids dazzled.

The Legend of Ramayana

Journey back in time with this light installation based on the Sanskrit epic poem The Ramayana. The epic follows Prince Rama’s quest to rescue his beloved wife Sita from the demon King Ravana, through the eyes of a Banyan tree.

Waves of Time by Chips and Toon & The Electric Canvas 

Inspired by Singapore’s very own legend of Sang Nila Utama, this projection on the CHIJMES building re-imagines his journey to our sunny island.

Don’t miss this headline act at the National Museum of Singapore. This performance is a supernatural experience exploring nature’s fury and beauty accompanied with powerful sound.

Bring along your tote bags and design them with your favourite characters. If you don’t have a tote bag, you can buy one for $7.

Waterloo Treasure Hunt (Selfie with me!) 

Embark on a treasure hunt as you look for 20 hidden characters around Waterloo Centre. To redeem a prize, you have to take five selfies with five different characters and show it to the staff at the shop.

Sk(r)etch by 3M x Ca Kway Teow

Leave your mark at this year’s Night Festival by scratching 0ff paint to reveal Singapore motifs such as the Merlion and our famous dragon playgrounds on all of the four panels. Special tip: use your flash when you take a photo, the colours will pop!

Fuerza Bruta

End your night on a high note with the Argentinean multi-sensory theatre party! You can look forward to 360 degree sensory aerial acrobatics performed over and around a standing audience.
