We all love the convenience of online shopping, right? But sometimes, convenience can come with unexpected risks. Enter the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), our trusted guardian of public health. They’ve been in action again, this time for a pretty alarming reason.
Three products, Fercy Dietary Supplement Product, Tanduk Rusa Kuat Lelaki, and Mentalk Candy, have raised some serious red flags. Why? Well, they contain some potent ingredients like a banned weight-loss medicine, a laxative, and medicines for erectile dysfunction.

So, how did this all come to light? It turns out that these products were being sold on popular local e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Qoo10. HSA wasted no time in telling these platforms to take down those listings and giving the sellers a serious warning.
Fercy Dietary Supplement Product
Fercy Dietary Supplement Product was marketed as a solution to curb hunger, control appetite, and help with weight loss. But guess what? HSA’s tests showed it contained high levels of sibutramine, a weight-loss medicine that’s been banned in Singapore since 2010 due to some nasty side effects, like an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.
And that’s not all – it also had sennosides, a laxative that can give you chronic constipation if used for too long. Oh, and it didn’t help that it had a misleading label claiming it passed the GMP audit, making consumers think it was super safe.
Tanduk Rusa Kuat Lelaki and Mentalk Candy
Tanduk Rusa Kuat Lelaki, sold as a herbal medicine for boosting performance, was found to have sky-high levels of sildenafil, a prescription medicine for erectile dysfunction. Similarly, Mentalk Candy, which sounds innocent enough with ginseng and coffee, had tadalafil in amounts that were up to 57 times higher than the prescribed daily dose.
Misusing these substances could lead to some serious health issues, like heart problems, headaches, and yes, even painfully prolonged erections. HSA’s advice? Stop using these products pronto and see a doctor if you’re feeling unwell.
Shopping Smart in the Online Jungle

HSA’s actions should be a wake-up call for all of us. When shopping online, especially from overseas, we need to be extra cautious. Avoid items, like these erectile dysfunction products from sketchy sources because they might lack quality control. Sometimes, products might look all fancy and claim to meet top-notch standards, but they could hide harmful stuff inside.
Takeaway
In these times, staying safe isn’t just about masks and hand sanitizers. It’s also about making smart choices when it comes to the things we buy and consume. HSA’s dedication to keeping us safe is truly reassuring.
Their message is clear: only buy from trustworthy sources, especially when you’re shopping online. And for anyone thinking about selling or supplying products with banned or potent ingredients – beware. HSA means business, and they can hit you with fines, jail time, or both.
So, remember, folks, online shopping is great, but staying safe should always be a top priority. HSA’s got our back, and it’s up to us to shop smart and stay healthy.
