Every year millions of people celebrate Earth Hour around the globe. Earth Hour is an annual environmental campaign that brings attention to the effects of climate change by asking people to switch off lights at their homes and businesses for an hour. It is usually observed on the last Saturday of March.

In 2019, Earth Hour will be from 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm on Saturday, 30 March. Let's check out what's happening for Earth Hour 2019 in Singapore!

Celebrate Earth Hour at City Square Mall

City Square Mall invites everyone to join in the annual Earth Hour celebration as the mall counts down to an hour of lights-off on 30 March 2019, at the B1 Fountain Square.

Here are some fun activities they have planned:

Roadshow and Water Wally Appearance

In collaboration with the Public Utilities Board (PUB), shoppers can make a pledge to save water at the water conservation roadshow together with Water Wally, who will be making a special guest appearance from 5pm to 8pm at hourly intervals.

Roadshow Time: 4.30pm – 8.30pm

Bottle Piggy Bank Making Workshop

Do your part to help recycle by creating your very own DIY piggy bank from recycled bottles, at the Bottle Piggy Bank Making Workshop. Shoppers who register at the venue will be provided with recycled bottles and other materials to customise their personal piggy banks.

Workshop Time: 7.00pm – 8.30pm

Quiz and Countdown

Challenge yourself in a water conservation quiz before the lights go off, and stand a chance to win attractive prizes!

In support of Earth Hour, and as part of City Square Mall’s commitment to environmental sustainability, lights of selected areas around the mall and other non-essential lights will then be switched off for an hour from 8.30pm.

Quiz Time: 8.00pm

Lights-Off Time: 8.30pm – 9.30pm

Movie Screening

Once the lights go off, sit back and relax with a free movie screening of Disney’s Moana.
