Doctor Anywhere (DA), a technology-led healthcare company headquartered in Singapore, has launched a virtual Lactation Consultation service in partnership with Hegen Lactation Centre (HLC), providing expert breastfeeding guidance and support for new parents from the comfort and privacy of home.
Available on the DA mobile app, users can book an appointment for a 60-minute video consultation with a certified International-Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from HLC at $100.
The new service is the latest addition to DA’s expanding suite of holistic online healthcare services, which include consultations with specialist doctors, nutritionists, and mental health professionals.
Addressing a Growing Need
Breastfeeding can be a challenging and uncertain experience for new parents, with issues ranging from latch problems, engorgement, to milk supply concerns. It often leaves new mothers feeling overwhelmed and unsure about where to turn for help. Additionally, the demands of modern life can make it challenging for parents to seek timely in-person support.
A recent national breastfeeding survey[1] found that while 97% of new mothers initially breastfeed their baby upon leaving the hospital, over half (60%) discontinue exclusively breastfeeding their baby before reaching the six-month mark – indicating challenges and a lack of support and guidance.
Empowering New Parents
To address this gap, DA’s virtual Lactation Consultation service aims to provide convenient access to personalized guidance tailored to individual needs and concerns, on demand in the comfort of the parent’s home.
The service not only supports parents during their breastfeeding journey but also empowers them with the knowledge and confidence to care for their child effectively.
