You should also add Baker & Cook to the list of must-visit eateries in Dempsey Hill. The open and well-lit place offers an airy vibe, while there’s also a play area for kids that makes it perfect for a family lunch. 

And if you are looking at some wholesome comfort food, do try PS Cafe on Dempsey Road that has an assortment of pizzas, burgers and more. This place is ever-crowded do make a reservation beforehand.

2. Activities

Beyond the eateries, you will find many activities in Dempsey Hill. The Open Farm Community should be on your list if you like the outdoors.

The place has an edible garden with herbs and vegetable produce. You will also find a lawn and bowling spaces, to keep you engaged. They also have a restaurant that only uses organic ingredients, so try out the healthy options too. 

There’s also Core Collective – a collaborative centre that swaps your work desk for yoga, a functional training floor and a boxing ring. Just the right kind of environment for working out.  

However, if unwinding is what you have in mind, do visit The Wagington with your furry friend. The place offers orthopaedic beds, luxe suites, and even an HD webcam for owners to keep an eye on their dogs.

The luxury dog care centre also offers active exercise and opportunities for them to socialise too. And there is a swimming pool as well as a salon and spa to make quite an experience.

Dempsey Hill offers plenty of home decor stores. Shop at Dover Street Market that offers plenty of designer brands for home furnishing.

You must also try Bungalow 55 that bring items from across the world especially curated by its owner. Shop for lamps, hand-painted prints, rugs, armchairs, decorative accessories and more.

Also head to Woody Antique House that sources its products from across Asia including China, Tibet, Mongolia, India, Thailand, Myanmar, and Indonesia.

Art lovers must visit the REDSEA Gallery in Dempsey Hill, which is one of the more vibrant and eclectic spaces on the island.

5. Shop 

Head to Huber’s Butchery for top-quality meats from all around the world. It is the largest butcher on the island and carries everything from the Tasmanian Angus beef to Japanese wagyu.

The place also has a bistro for you to grab some lunch, while an outdoor playground is sure to keep the kids happy.

You must also visit Jones the Grocer store that packs a host of delectable gourmet options. The Australian store offers a variety of coffees and premium food items. But it’s the walk-in cheese room is what you must visit within the premises.

The store also offers locally crafted cheese and even has an in-house fromager (cheesemaker) to help with the purchases.
