Lately, cribs and strollers have become popular recall items. Just recently, the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the US has issued a recall of some half a million Dorel cribs and 1.5 million Graco strollers.
The recall for the Dorel cribs was issued after the occurrence of several accidents. In most of the accidents, the babies were only bruised but in one particular accident, the baby died. So if you have a Dorel crib, stop using it immediately. Visit your retailer to inquire about getting a repair kit. Authorities advise parents against trying to repair the cribs themselves.
In the case of Graco strollers, the recall was issued because their canopy folding and unfolding mechanism, found in the travel systems and the stand alone models, has caused the amputations and lacerations of the fingers of some children. If you own a Graco stroller, immediately contact your retailer for a repair kit.
