Three children were injured following an accident between an SMRT bus and a car at Choa Chu Kang Drive on Sunday, 8 January.
The accident
According to The Straits Times, the SMRT bendy bus 302 crashed on the pavement following the accident, which took place at around 2 pm near Block 689B, Choa Chu Kang Drive. The crash left the windscreen of the bus shattered.
A total of 5 people were injured, including two 7-year-old boys and one 12-year-old girl. The bus driver and an elderly lady were also hurt. SCDF dispatched three ambulances and one fire engine to the accident site. The injured were immediately taken to hospital.
According to an SCDF spokesman, "They suffered abrasions, headaches, breathlessness, giddiness and palpitations."
Mr Patrick Nathan, SMRT's vice-president of corporate information and communications said, "We are currently assisting the Traffic Police with investigations and reaching out to the injured parties to render necessary assistance."
Police are currently investigating the incident.

- Teach your child to take special care when getting on or off the bus. In case of small children, assist them by holding hands while embarking and disembarking.
- Stand well behind on the footpath while waiting for the bus and wait until the bus stops.
- Remain seated while the bus is travelling. Never allow children to run around in busses. An emergency application of the brake or even an unavoidable sharp turn of the vehicle, could prove disastrous for children and lead to major injuries.
- Put school bags and other bulky items under the seat; never in the passage where they could cause a trip hazard.
- Do not cross the road until the bus has moved off and you can see clearly in both directions. Always cross the road at designated pedestrian crossings and wait for the 'green man' to appear.
