Mums and dads, here’s one to add to your weekend activity list with the kids: the newly opened Changi Airport Connector that features a 3.5km cycling and jogging path, allowing you to ‘meet’ with over 20 life-sized dinosaur exhibits, rent bicycles, and enjoy local cuisine.
The route also provides convenient access onwards to Jewel Changi Airport and the terminals. The park connector is open 24 hours and entry is free.
Starting from Terminal 2 of Changi Airport, the cycling and walking path is linked to East Coast Park and is home to the Changi Jurassic Mile — Singapore’s newest and largest permanent outdoor display of life-sized dinosaurs.
Visitors will be able to get up close to 9 different dinosaur species along a 1km stretch of the park connector, located between the Terminal 4 pit stop and the entrance to East Coast Park.
Officiated by Transport Minister and member of parliament Mr Ong Ye Kung at the opening on Sunday (11 Oct), some of the prehistoric species include the gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex, brontosaurus and pterodactyl.
En route the 1km path, visitors will learn more about these prehistoric creatures through the information panels that has been set up, as well as be accompanied by safari-themed music coming through from speakers.
Reservation for Changi Jurassic Mile Required on Weekends
According to a Changi Airport Group spokesperson, there will be safe distancing measures put in place and capacity for the Changi Jurassic Mile has been capped at a “a few hundred”.
As such, between 16 October 2020 and 3 January 2021, visitors will have to reserve a slot via the Changi PlayPass if they are looking to visit the Changi Jurassic Mile on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday between 9am and midnight.
Bookings are not required for weekday visits. Visitors will be admitted every 30 minutes, and are allowed to stay for up to one hour within the exhibit.
“The new experiential elements injected along the Changi Jurassic Mile will offer all who visit a sense of adventure and surprise. With the Changi Airport Connector, we hope to give visitors a different experience of the airport,” said Mr Jayson Goh, CAG’s Managing Director for Airport Operations Management.

More Recreational Activities for Families
Apart from the new route, families can look forward to more recreational activities at HUB & SPOKE Changi Airport (HUB & SPOKE) at Terminal 2.
“This is a new pit stop facility where visitors can rent bicycles, cool off with a shower after exercise, or have a meal with family and friends,” stated Changi Airport Group (CAG) in its press release.
Visitors who do not have a bicycle can conveniently rent one at GoCycling’s newest bicycle rental service at HUB & SPOKE, which carries a wide selection of bicycles such as tandem and children’s bicycles. This particular branch also sells bicycle equipment and offers bicycle repair services.
That said, cyclists are not confined to just the new route and can travel all the way up to Coney Island and Jurong Lake Gardens. The bicycles can be returned at any of the seven other GoCycling outlets around Singapore, including the ones at Changi Beach Park and East Coast Park.
HUB & SPOKE also provides cyclists with free bicycle parking (80 available racks) and bicycle lockers at a cost of S$5 a day, up to 10 days each time.
Other amenities include the pay-per-use shower facilities for visitors to freshen up after their exercise. They come fully equipped with bath amenities and lockers to store their personal belongings.
Visitors will also find the HUB & SPOKE Café which serves up local and western dishes in a colonial-themed setting, with an option of outdoor alfresco dining.
