Four years ago, child specialist Esther Ng conducted a study of primary and secondary schools in Singapore and discovered that a lot of bullying happens in them.
According to The Singapore Straits Times, about fifty percent of the 4,000 kids surveyed said that they were victims of labeling, teasing and ridicule.
About twenty-percent of these kids revealed that they had been physically abused, sworn at and had rude signs made at them. Sadly, a number of these victims were ill-treated by their own close friends.
Bullying is rampant in our schools today.
Help your kids deal with bullies by doing these things:
– Encourage them to tell you or another adult when they’re having problems with any of their friends.
– Tell your kids to stick to a buddy in school.
– Inform your children’s schools of your safety worries.
