Singaporean horrified by bugs in cereal, goes LIVE on Facebook to prove infestation!

Singaporean horrified by bugs in cereal, goes LIVE on Facebook to prove infestation!

This Singaporean was horrified to find bugs in cereal! She reveals, "We encountered this 2 times. First there were dead flies in it."

What would you do if you encountered bugs in your favourite cereal?

Singaporean Ifaa Insyiirah was in for a nasty shock when she found that her pack of breakfast cereal was infested with dead flies and maggots.

Yuck?!

Singaporean Discovers Bugs in Cereal

Ifaa shared her woes on Facebook, in two separate posts.

In her first post dated 22 July 2018, she wrote, “So we encountered this two times. First was dead flies in it. My brother actually bit on one of them unknowingly, as shown in the last pic, and second time was the one shown in the video.”

“Maggots ? We actually had bought the two boxes from different shops cause we thought that the shop we first bought in was the problem.

“Dear friends,  please check on the packaging before opening. Sometimes it’s inside the cereal as well.

“This is so going to AVA .”

Live Demo of Bugs in Cereal

So apparently, Ifaa complained to the AVA who asked for more proof. Especially since they hadn’t received other complaints about that brand of breakfast cereal.

So off she went to buy another packet of the cereal from Punggol, and a different flavour at that.

This time, Ifaa went on Facebook LIVE with her experiment. On 25 July 2018, she did a live “unboxing” video. The results were creepy to say the least!

In Ifaa’s words, “It is not only the Vanilla Almond flavour. It’s all their SPECIAL K CEREAL.

“AND GUESS WHAT ?!!!

“This time I have like more friends inside the cereal. It’s like the ‘CEREAL PARTY’ babeh!”

Uh-oh. Check out the video below!

Meanwhile, here are some tips to keep your pantry bug-free:

  • Examine packages carefully before buying, and check the expiry date. Avoid packages with dents, holes or scratches.
  • Buy smaller packages so you can use them up sooner. Follow the “first in, first out” rule when consuming food.
  • Grains, cereals, nuts etc are bets stored in glass, metal or plastic containers with airtight lids.
  • Store pantry basics in a cool, dry, dark place.
  • Give your pantry a thorough cleaning every three to six months.
