Woman Lets Her Child Poop In A Public Playground At Bukit Panjang Leaving Netizens Horrified

Woman Lets Her Child Poop In A Public Playground At Bukit Panjang Leaving Netizens Horrified

Netizens were horrified to see the photo of a woman letting her baby poop on the floor of Bukit Panjang playground.

Your little tot is bound to experience some poop accidents. While the usual response would be to clean up after your baby almost immediately, this mum seemed to have no problem with her baby pooping openly on the floor of an outdoor playground.

On Thursday (26 August), a Stomp contributor shared a shocking photo of a woman letting her child defecate in the middle of a Bukit Panjang playground.

The post soon went viral as netizens found the image “barbaric” and “horrifying.”

The Stomp contributor that uploaded the photo of the baby pooping on the playground floor got it from a friend who witnessed the entire ordeal at Block 140 Petir Road at around 6.30pm.

“My friend and her husband brought their son to the playground and saw a lady pulling down her daughter’s shorts,” says the contributor.

The Stomp contributor’s friend continued to share that the woman had asked her daughter “to squat on the playground’s slide platform.” (This is where kids sit before they slide down.)

To their shock, the child did let out poop on the platform without the woman putting anything underneath. The child’s poop “straight plopped on the playground” while the other kids were still very much playing nearby.

Netizens “Baffled” By The “Horrifying” Photo

“My friend was so baffled by the unorthodox, unhygienic, barbaric and horrifying sight that she just confronted the lady,” the Stomp contributor writes.

When the contributor’s friend approached the lady about the issue, the woman then said how her child was ‘不舒服’ which means “unwell” or “uncomfortable.”

To which the contributor wrote, “Is this acceptable? Abso-effin-lutely NOT.”

They also make sure to add, “The playground is a shared space. How can the woman let her child poop at an open space and have the audacity to say that her child is unwell? If her child is unwell, why bring her to play to the playground?”

The Importance of Personal Hygiene Given The Current Situation

The Stomp contributor and her friend shared the shocking photo in the hope that it would bring light to three points:

  1. “Spread awareness of not bringing your sick child to the playground”
  2. “Stop thinking that it is okay to allow your child to pee and poop at open public spaces”
  3. “Respect your child’s privacy,” this is especially since when the woman pulled down her daughter’s shorts, her private areas could be seen clearly

They also pointed that it was concerning that there were other kids playing and watching the mum-and-daughter duo.

But the contributor’s main concern was regarding hygiene for “God knows if the lady cleaned up the poop that was left behind on the slide.”
