Ashton Kutcher says the best part about having a baby is his wife, Mila

Ashton Kutcher says the best part about having a baby is his wife, Mila

"She's the greatest mum. She's incredible."

Actor/producer Ashton Kutcher recently dropped by the Ellen Degeneres show to talk about being a dad to his adorable 18-month-old daughter, Wyatt.

Fatherhood has changed a lot in the 38-year-old celebrity’s life including his musical choices.

“She loves dancing. I mean, if I sing ‘The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round,’ she loses it,” the actor told Ellen. “That’s her thing. She just loves it when the wheels go round.”

The music-loving tot apparently has “one move down pat” and Ashton was more than happy to get up demonstrate it, much to the delight of Ellen’s studio audience.

The ‘proud papa’ added, “She likes to ‘Whip and Nae Nae,’ too,”. “Mama taught her that.”

On his parenting style, he shared his simple goal during his daughter’s first year.

“That first year, you spend just trying to keep them alive,” he quipped. “And then after that, you actually hit a point where your job is to keep them from killing themselves.”

He added that, “She tries to kill herself on a regular basis,”. “You’d think that they would come with instincts around fire and large falls, and they don’t!”

When Wyatt was two months old, Ashton also stopped by the Ellen show. He shared that the best part about being a dad is seeing ‘Mila Kunis come into her own as a mum’.

The low key couple opted for a secret wedding in June 2015. Ashton’s separated from ex-wife Demi Moore in 2013, after eight years of marriage.

Ashton and Mila first met on the set of the (now defunct) hit series ‘That 70s Show’, where they became close friends.

“The most amazing thing about having a baby is my partner, Mila,” marvelled Ashton. “She’s the greatest mum — I can’t even. I go to work every day, and I come home and she’s like perfect. And it just seems like everything went amazing, and I know that something probably didn’t go amazing, but she never complains. It’s unbelievable. She’s incredible.”

Hands-on parenting and a deeper kind of love

The couple, who both lead very busy lives, manage to care for their baby without the help of nanny.

“Just the two of us,” shared Ashton. “It’s awesome. We just want to know our kid. We want to be the people that know what to do when the baby’s crying to make the baby not cry anymore.

We want to know, like, when she makes a little face or something, we want to be emotionally in touch with her. I think the only way to do that is by being the one who’s there.”

But he did admit that since Wyatt was only a few months old, there’s not much to get to know about her yet.

“When you first get them, you’re all excited, and you’re ready to do all these things,” he explained. “Then you realize it’s like getting a new cell phone where all the features don’t work yet. It’s like a phone that won’t take pictures, and you’re like ‘Why won’t my phone take pictures?!’ And it won’t make calls, and it doesn’t do a lot. But it looks really cute!”

One things for sure, though, little Wyatt expanded her dad’s understanding of what love means.

“You think you know how much you can love another person, and then you have a child and then you know,” he marvelled. “It’s like infinitely rewarding.”
