Classified as Murder Case
The police have classified the case as murder and the domestic helper is expected to be charged in court on 8 July 2020.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both the victim and the suspect knew each other. However, it is not known if the domestic helper was living together with the elderly woman.
In an interview with The Straits Times (ST), a man who alleged himself as the grandson of the victim said that his grandmother lived together with her son in their two-storey semi-detached house when she was still alive.
He also said that he lives elsewhere, and declined to be named.
Neighbours of the elderly woman also told ST that they did not notice anything out of the ordinary nor suspect any major conflicts happening among their neighbours.
