Protect yourself from H1N1
It must be a relief, especially for pregnant women and children, that the first batch of H1N1 vaccines ordered by the Ministry of Health has already arrived last week. According to Channel News Asia, the Ministry of Health got 250,000 doses of vaccines, 50,000 of which were rolled out to polyclinics and family doctors.
Experts say that H1N1 is really dangerous to pregnant women, younger children and people with asthma. According to statistics pregnant women are six times as likely to die from H1N1. Now that the vaccines are available in Singapore, people who are at high risk should be vaccinated right away. Although some people are shying away from getting vaccinated for fear that unwanted effects will surface later. The World Health Office (WHO) assures all people that the vaccine has not caused any unusual side effects on people who have already been vaccinated.
