Let’s be honest, we go to bed in a variety of different moods and temperaments. Some nights we feel like making love and some nights we feel like just getting it on. Some nights we are like the energizer bunny and some nights we are more like the tortoise than the hare. It doesn’t make much sense then to assume that the same positions would work best every single night. Some positions fit better with different moods. The following is a list of positions that might work best for each mood…
Lovey-dovey mood

There are a few positions that work best when feeling cuddly and sweet. Missionary is always a good choice as bodies are close together and kissing is easily accomplished.
The spooning position is also a good choice.
Lastly, I recommend woman on top with the man sitting up as well for a bonding, cuddling position.
Hot and heavy mood

Few positions fit the hot and heavy bill better than doggy style. It is a typical hot and heavy position. There are other positions that work well for this mood too though. A variation of doggy-style that also works is where the woman is lying flat instead of on hands and knees.
Woman on top is a great hot and heavy position as well as the reverse cowgirl position where the woman on top is turned the other way.
Lazy days

The spooning position also works well when both partners are feeling lazy as it requires little physical work.
My personal favourite on a lazy day is side straddle. Both partners are lying on their back and the woman is slightly straddled over the man. Neither partner has to exert themselves, neither partner is doing any strenuous stretches, etc.
Only a hot minute

The ultimate quickie position is when the woman is bent over bed (or couch, table, etc). Another that works almost as well is almost the opposite where the woman is lying on her back on the bed with legs hanging over.
The shower is always a great place to get in a quickie too just because the whole experience is perfect for a hot minute.
Deeper connection

For the deepest connection possible, try the following; reverse cowgirl but instead of the woman resting on her shins, have her on her feet lowering herself down by bending her knees. This position is very deep. Warning; it may be a little too deep for some.
Having the woman raise one leg when the man is on top also allows for some deep positions.

Maybe its cliché and boring to some, but the missionary position pretty much fits every mood and comfort level. It is the one size fits all position. When in doubt, try missionary out….and then follow your mood from there.
