A "Dino-mite" dinosaur-themed birthday party at KidsSTOP
SuperMommy blogger, Neetu M, recently hosted her little one's birthday party at KidsSTOP. Read on for all the party details...
Every year most of us mums, including me, find ourselves searching high and low for a place to hold our child’s birthday party.
One of the main things I look for in a venue is the kids’ entertainment value. No one wants a boring party! That is why this year for my son’s 6th birthday we decided to host a party at KidsSTOP!
Now many of you might have already been to KidsSTOP, but just in case you haven’t had the chance to check it out, KidsSTOP is an edutainment centre that is designed for young children to expose them to science through hands-on activities and programmes.
My two boys (age 3 and 6 years old), have spent countless hours exploring all the different zones and exhibits and keep asking to go back, so I knew that KidsSTOP would be a great place to host a birthday party.
A “Dino-mite” delight party
KidsSTOP offers five different “science” related party themes to choose from:
- Party Animals
- Chemistry Artistry
- Dinomite Delight
- Dazzle Razzle
Being super big fans of Tyrannosaurs Rex and Velociraptor, choosing a theme was easy – dinosaurs of course!
By using some creativity and educational activities, we really made the whole dinosaur experience come to life.
Let me go over the highlights of the dinosaur themed birthday party at KidsSTOP on the next page.
The wild dinosaur adventure begins
As the party guests started arriving, they were able to hang out in the party room and do some fun Dino – DIY activities which included making your own dinosaur party hats, tattoos and matching the dinosaur shadows.
We had joined together the two party rooms to make it a massive hall, which was just what we needed to accommodate the 90+ party guests. The main room had the stage and activities, while the back room became the eating area. There was plenty of room for all the party guests to mingle, move around, and really enjoy themselves.
Additionally, the kids were able to do some “free & easy” roaming and exploring of the numerous activities at KidsStop.
What’s a dinosaur-themed birthday party without a dinosaur quest? More details on this on the next page.
The Dinosaur quest
After the kids had fun stomping about, we gathered them back into the party room, where the official quest was about to begin. We had organised a series of activities, which were all led by the enthusiastic KidsSTOP party educators.
The children were all super excited and eager to participate in all the cool activities, that they didn’t even realise that they were having fun and learning at the same time.
The first activity was an interactive show that allowed kids to embark on a voyage back into prehistoric time to learn about these dinosaurs that walked the earth millions of years ago.
Then the kids got the chance to step into the shoes of an explorer by experiencing the “Ice Age” through a hands-on experiment using dry ice.
This was then followed by a demonstration of an exciting “volcano eruption”.
Finally the kids had to “hatch the dinosaur egg” piñata to unveil the little dinosaur eggs that rested within.
Food is not included in the KidsSTOP party package, but we were easily able to cater all the kids favourites from LiJiang, a restaurant located within KidsStop, as well as bring some of our own dinosaur themed homemade snacks.
After a hearty Dino Dinner, the kids got to go on a paleontologist fossil dig. More details on the next page.
Paleontologist fossil dig
One of my favourite attractions at KidsSTOP is the fossil pit. Thus, I was super excited about this post-dinner activity. The kids were able to really get down on their hands and knees to experience a Paleontologist dig. The activity required them to work together to excavate and identify the dinosaur fossils.
Their great team digging efforts were rewarded with cake and cupcakes back in the party room.
The volcano had erupted, the piñata had hatched and all the growling tummies had been fed – it was finally time to say our goodbyes. The kids were each given a bag full of dino-goodies, including a special book that featured all the main KidsSTOP characters and dinosaur eggs that would hatch would hatch overnight.
Alas another fabulous party journey had come to an end.
Until next time….
