Last Sunday, 22 November 2009, was Grandparents Day and more than five thousand people joined in the celebrations organized by Council for Third Age 3 (C3A). Former Deputy Minister, Dr. Tony Tan, and his two grandsons were present during the event.
Channel News Asia reports that the highlights of the event were the belly dancing number by a group of hip grannies and the Amazing Race participated by various families.
Mr. Gerard Ee, C3A President said that grandparents play an important role in our community and it’s just fitting that we devote a day just to appreciate them. Grandparent’s Day is a great way to show kids that grandparents are important members of the family, and they should always be loved and respected.
