8 traits of awesome mothers

25 Mar, 2014

We list 8 essential mummy traits here. I’m sure if you think about it, you will be pleasantly surprised when you find out that you possess all of these!
Patience

Patience

Sometimes being a mum is a challenge. But keep your calm and explain things to your kids, practically.
Unconditional love

Unconditional love

Your children need to know you will love them no matter what their life circumstances may be. Tell them you love them frequently!
Seeing humour in a situation

Seeing humour in a situation

It is important for mums to see the lighter side of things. Smiling through spills, messes, cuts and scrapes will show your kids how to be up-beat about things that come their way.
Understanding and supportive

Understanding and supportive

Love your kids the way they are. Support them in whatever they choose to do. This may be trying at times but if you aren't their champion, who will be?
Always willing to listen

Always willing to listen

Make sure you talk to your kids regularly to find out what is going on in their lives. Try your best to be a non-judgemental listener. Sometimes all they need is someone to hear them and give them a hug!
Spend quality time

Spend quality time

Spend time with your kids doing what they love to do. Be it painting, cooking or doing crafts, use this time to get to know your kid’s interests.
Strength

Strength

Be the rock they can lean on in tough times. Start this from the time they are young and they will always come to you when life throws them a curve-ball.
Never too proud to apologize

Never too proud to apologize

We mums are human too; show your kids it’s important to apologize if you make a mistake by following this rule yourself. They will respect you for doing this.
