2PM Member Chansung Becomes a Dad With Birth of First Child
Hwang Chansung is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. Recently, the rapper welcomed one of the most significant changes that could happen in a man’s life—fatherhood.
On the 26th of July, a representative of L’July Entertainment, Chansung’s agency, shares the big news. According to the L’July Entertainment representative,
“Hwang Chansung’s wife recently gave birth to a child. Both the mother and child are in good health.”

In late 2021, the idol and actor posted a handwritten letter detailing his soon-to-be baby and upcoming marriage. This especially shocked Hottest (2PM fans) because of Chansung’s lack of dating rumours.
“While preparing and planning marriage with this person after my military discharge, the blessing of a new life came to us earlier than expected,” he wrote.
However, the couple’s wedding did not go as planned. They decided to postpone their wedding ceremony because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are planning to get married as early as the beginning of next year.”
Before the news of his marriage, Chansung got caught in dating scandals with different celebrities and female idols. Despite this, the 2PM member denied all romance claims throughout his career with the exception of his marriage announcement.

2PM Member Hwang Chansung and His Life as an Idol
Hwang Chansung debuted in 2008 as a member of 2PM. Like most of his fellow members, he worked under the known Kpop company, JYP Entertainment.
15 years later, Chansung decided to leave the agency and signed an exclusive contract with L’July Entertainment. He ultimately ended his long contract with JYP Entertainment to focus on his acting career. Despite this change, Changsung continues to be a member of 2PM.

Acting Before Performing
Many people believed that Hwang Chansung was an idol turned into an actor. However, Chansung made his debut as an actor before becoming a member of the 2PM boy band.
He played roles in the South Korean sitcom Unstoppable High Kick. After that, he appeared in the 2008 television drama Jungle Fish. He was able to fulfil his role in these two projects first before he became a member of the popular band.
Superstar Survival in 2006
In 2006, he tried his luck and auditioned in Superstar Survival along with his 2 PM band member, Lee Junho and Ok Taecyeon. Hwang Chansung made it to the finals of Superstar Survival in 2006.
After the show’s success, the groups 2AM and 2PM emerged in the Kpop scene. JYP Entertainment managed the members of 2PM. On the other hand, BigHit Entertainment took over the activities and promotions of 2AM members.
Working Out as a Hobby
Working out has become one of Hwang Chansung’s hobbies. However, despite his perseverance in working out, progress does not come to him quickly.
He then took it as an opportunity to be an inspiration to people, especially to his fans. Even his trainer said it takes a lot of exercise and perseverance for the results to show up.
Hwang Chansung works out twice a day. Additionally, the rapper-actor is a trained martial arts expert with high levels in Taekwondo and Kumdo. Kumdo is a modern Korean martial art descended from the Japanese martial art Kendo.
Felt Insecure Upon Joining 2PM Band
Many people are surprised, but most of his fans know that Hwang Chansung works hard to convince people of his talent. He even felt nervous and insecure when joining the Kpop group, 2PM.
“The members were all so talented,” said Hwang Chansung during his interview with Men’s Health.
A singer-actor then inspired him to keep going and improve by consistently practising. Eventually, he becomes a good singer-actor like the one who once inspired him to be.
“At first, I couldn’t match the dance moves to the rhythm, so I was always early or late. To keep from hurting the other members, the only thing I could do was to try harder than them,” stated Chansung.
Misses Having a Normal Life
Hwang Chansung became of the most popular personalities in South Korea. He worked as an idol rapper, singer, and actor for most of his life. People in Seoul tend to look out for him whenever he is outside his home.
Because of his fame, Chansung admits that he misses the life he had before debuting as an idol. He sometimes misses having a normal life when he can walk through malls and streets with no one noticing him.
“When I miss things like that, I sometimes go shopping alone at the mall early in the morning,” he said in an interview. “I just wear a hat and take a subway train. Nobody recognizes me.”
