Introducing the P1 Registration Portal
The P1 Registration Portal will facilitate the registration of children in their preferred schools across all five phases of the P1 Registration Exercise. These phases include Phases 1, 2A, 2B, 2C, and 2C Supplementary. Aspiring parents can access the portal through the MOE P1 Registration website. To log into the portal, a valid Singpass with 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is required. It is important to note that only one parent needs to log in and submit the registration through the portal.
Preparation for Registration
MOE advises parents to set up their 2FA well in advance to ensure that their Singpass account is valid before the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise. In case parents require assistance during the registration process, they can contact their chosen school directly between 9 am and 4:30 pm. Additionally, the dates for different phases can be found on the MOE P1 Registration website. It is highly recommended that parents familiarize themselves with the specific dates to avoid any confusion.

Updated Information for Informed Decisions
In an effort to support parents in making informed decisions, MOE will publish data from the previous year’s P1 Registration Exercise starting from May 23, 2023. This data will include information on available vacancies, registration applicants, and balloting details for each school. Parents can refer to this information to gain insights into the admission process and make strategic choices for their children. The data will also reveal if any balloting was conducted and provide details on the number of vacancies and applicants involved.
Compulsory Primary School Enrolment
MOE reminds the public about the Compulsory Education Act, which requires all Singapore Citizens (SC) born after January 1, 1996, and residing in Singapore to attend national primary schools, including government-funded Special Education (SPED) schools. Children born between January 2, 2017, and January 1, 2018, must either participate in this year’s P1 Registration Exercise for admission in January 2024 or enroll in the Junior 1/P1 Programme of a SPED school.
Deferment Options and Consequences
Parents who believe their child is not ready for P1 can seek approval from MOE’s Compulsory Education Unit (CEU) for deferment of registration. Similarly, if a child is born on January 1, 2018, parents may request deferment to allow their child to start primary school in January 2025 instead. However, it is important to note that providing false information during the P1 Registration Exercise is strictly prohibited. Any registrant found guilty of such misconduct will be referred to the police for investigation. MOE will transfer a child who has been successfully registered based on false information to another school with available vacancies once all eligible children have registered.
Plan Ahead for 2024 P1 Admissions
With the registration exercise for 2024 P1 admissions around the corner, parents are urged to plan ahead and familiarize themselves with the registration process. The new P1 Registration Portal offers a convenient and streamlined way to register children for their preferred schools. By utilizing the online platform, parents can easily navigate through the five phases of the registration exercise. Remember to ensure that you have a valid Singpass with 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) to log into the portal and complete the registration process.
