2019 O-Level Results: 85.2% Of Students Score At Least 5 Passes

About 85.2 per cent of the 24,409 students who sat for the 2019 GCE O-Level Examination scored at least five passes, results released by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) revealed on Monday (Jan 13).

The 2019 o-level results sees a slight improvement from last year’s record of 84.8 per cent.

Students passing at least one subject and three are at 99.9 per cent (24,377 students) and 96.5 per cent (23,550 students), respectively—comparable to the performance of the students who took the examinations in 2018.

Students who wish to apply for admission to Junior Colleges (JCs), Millennia Institute (MI), polytechnics, and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) may do so via the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) using their O-Level examination results. The JAE registration opens at 3pm on Monday, 13 January 2020, and will close at 4pm on Friday, 17 Jan.

Students can also refer to the interactive MySkillsFuture portal to find out more about the education options, career pathways and also courses that may be suited to their strengths, interests and abilities.

Students who need guidance on their education options and next steps can approach their teachers or education and career guidance counsellors supporting their schools, the authorities said. Students can also book an appointment to see a counsellor at MOE’s ECG Centre at Grange Road until Jan 24.
