With each beginning of a new year, we can’t help but look back at the people, events and milestones that have helped shape the past 12 months. We plan the year ahead by thinking about how we can repeat those moments of success and how we can we can move forward from the obstacles we faced. As the year begins, we fill ourselves with hope that this, too, will bring another round of success, wealth and happiness.
For theAsianparent, 2014 was a year of incredible growth brought upon by tremendous team work and focus. We ventured forward by taking calculated risks and were rewarded for our efforts.
First, we launched the Philippine edition of theAsianparent last May 2014, bringing us now to 5 countries, which include Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. By expanding to the Philippines, we not only extended our audience reach by welcoming a new set of parent-readers, but it also enabled us to increase the wealth of information we could share on all editions of theAsianparent by incorporating the unique Asian perspective from our new audience.
Second, with the expansion to new markets and the continuous progress of current ones, theAsianparent’s traffic has increased tenfold in 2014 alone to nearly 6 million mothers monthly. We are astounded by the engagement especially of our readers from Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia, where theAsianparent is holding the number one spot in the parenting website arena.
Third, by expanding, we’ve also welcomed new members to theAsianparent team. Proudly, we are now a family of over 50 members distributed across 5 countries. And it is this multicultural environment that has kept theAsianparent one of the ideal workplaces to be in – where no biases and no judgments are being passed, but only commendations for team effort and hard work.
Finally, our latest achievement is the launching of theAsianparent Groups site. Since going live in October 2014, our Q&A platform has amassed over 100,000 parenting questions and answers and over 3000 members. The groups site marks a major milestone as it is the first ever parenting Q&A website specifically designed for Asian mums.
We certainly have to thank our partners and readers for their support – without which we could not have reached all of these achievements in just a year. As we face 2015, we at theAsianparent are filled with anticipation as we set new goals and challenges for ourselves. We’re looking at another year of growth and expansion – and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store.
May 2015 be another year of good tidings for us all!
